Lying at work can be both a ridiculous trifle and a real threat to the company’s security. How do you know that your subordinate is misrepresenting information? How do I recognize potential liars at the interview stage?

At interviews, 90 % of applicants embellish the facts from their resume. And this is absolutely normal: the goal of every candidate is to sell themselves.

However, in a work situation, deception can lead to serious consequences, and you will have to find out the truth with the help of a polygraph, corporate investigations and lawyers. Therefore, the main task of the management is to correctly profile the staff and cut off unreliable people at the recruitment stage.

Profiling is a behavioral tool designed to create a psychological portrait.

Having studied a person, we can understand everything about him: when he lies, how, why, why
AFTER STUDYING A PERSON, WE CAN UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM: WHEN THEY LIE, HOW, WHY, WHY.
Now there are a lot of opportunities to get to know the interlocutor before meeting them: through social networks, videos and photos. Observe him and his basic line of behavior — how he behaves in a relaxed state.

When a person lies, they are afraid of being discovered. That means he’s under stress. This leads to a change in the basic line of behavior: gestures, facial expressions change, and the human body begins to give out excitement.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE BEING LIED TO:
GESTURES

Verbal reservations: the person says “no”, but the head shows “Yes”.
The interlocutor suddenly starts biting his lips, grabbing objects, making unnecessary movements.
When a person tells the truth, they describe an empirical experience and illustrate the story with gestures. If he is lying, then do not wait for active gestures.
Study the person well before drawing conclusions. Perhaps, because of his nature, he does not make many gestures, or he has an anxiety disorder that is expressed in certain movements.

GESTURE

Micro expressions. The interlocutor can say that he likes something, but mimic expressions of disgust, for example, wrinkling his nose.
SPEECH

The speaker of the truth feels at ease in the story, he is distracted by interesting details and describes the details. Made-up stories always turn out to be tunnel-like: they have no context or nuances. No matter how prepared the interlocutor is, there will always be white spots in his story.
The set (and only set!) the above signs indicate that your interlocutor is experiencing stress.
THE SET (AND ONLY SET!) THESE SYMPTOMS SHOWS THAT YOUR PARTNER IS EXPERIENCING STRESS.
They may hide negative experiences, or they may actually lie about certain topics and be afraid of getting caught. How to respond to this and whether you need to find out the details depends on the specific situation.

Remember that not every stress is a lie. A person may worry about personal problems or feel uncomfortable in an unfamiliar environment. Sometimes the simple question is “did something happen to you?» dispels all doubts.

On the Internet, you will find a lot of pseudo-tools for recognizing lies. They do not work — they only give rise to a lot of myths, using which people make erroneous conclusions.
