Inappropriate attentions are not yet harassment, but they are no longer business communication. If you are familiar with the rules of business etiquette, it will not be difficult to recognize and stop such harmless actions.

Signs of attention that go beyond the boundaries of business ethics:

A long, haunting look in the eyes
Gaze at the lips or glide over the figure
Inappropriate compliments
Deliberate violation of business distance, approaching more than 60 cm
Touching the body, except for the handshake
All this may be an attempt to flirt or show sympathy. Nothing criminal, but if it is Intrusive and unpleasant, it is worth stopping this behavior. Most often, harassment occurs where there is a hierarchy.
The aggressor (above) is driving the victim into a trap: either she is playing by his rules, or she is waiting for problems.

WHY NOT BE SILENT
Harassment in most cases is not associated with a real desire for sex, but with a sense of power and impunity. It is a bad choice to suffer in silence or to run away from your job. The aggressor will only make sure of his own invulnerability, and everything will repeat: not with you, so with another. The story of Harvey Weinstein is a clear example of how one man can terrorize dozens of silent victims for years, intimidating them with his high position.

WHAT TO DO
There are several scenarios.
The first is to appeal to the leader who is above the abuser. The boss will already decide what measures to apply (or not to apply). If the result is positive, you will stop the harassment and save your workplace.

Second: contacting a lawyer. Depending on the situation, you need to either seek criminal proceedings for forced sex, or file a lawsuit for infringement of labor rights.

! In both cases, evidence must be provided: screenshots of correspondence, conversation recordings.

Third: dismissal. If all the previous measures did not work, if you are in a company where harassment is a lifestyle, then it is better to leave your place of work.

I’m the boss. How to prevent the possibility of harassment in the team? Conduct a conversation with employees on this topic. Explain what is acceptable and unacceptable in a business environment, and make it clear that you will apply the most stringent measures to violators.
